PTX Services, LLC, (Professional Transportation Xpress Services) was formed in December of 2010 and was operational on February 18, 2011. However, there is much more to the story.
In 1992, Plymouth Foam, a small manufacturer based in Plymouth, Wisconsin, recognized the need for in house transportation. They started their own private carrier fleet consisting of six tractors and a dozen trailers. A short time later they converted the private fleet to ?for hire? and started BSV Transportation. As Plymouth Foam grew, so did BSV. By 1998, BSV had about 20 power units and 45 trailers. A change in management and philosophy accelerated growth and by 2005 BSV had over 60 power units including owner operators and 180 trailers. In February of 2005 a tragic plane crash took the lives of the owners of Plymouth Foam and BSV. In the years that followed many changes took place. The corporate vision changed and the strategies that were developed focused solely on manufacturing.
Change in Ownership:
Near the end of 2010, a dedicated customer of BSV made a bid to acquire the assets, contracts and management of BSV Transportation. The proposal was accepted and BSV Transportation became PTX Services LLC, on February 18, 2011. The new parent company, Plyco Corporation, has been in business for over 50 years. They are the premier supplier of building materials to the metal and light commercial building industry. They have a strong commitment to customer service in every aspect of their business. Plyco management understands the importance of reliable and cost effective transporation of products. It has been a key part of the company's business strategy for over 20 years. Plyco has made a significant investment in PTX Services and is committed to its' success.
Then and now, we strive to formulate strong and lasting partnerships with our customers. It can be difficult to measure just how effective that is, but in our case it was easy to measure. The response from our customers was overwhelmingly positive. It wasn?t "the name of the company" that they were loyal to, it was the people and the relationships we have had for many years. They expressed complete confidence in the ability of the staff and management to continue servicing their accounts as we had in the past. Today we are operating with the same experienced staff and remain committed to providing excellent service. Our fleet of 40 tractors, 16 owner operators and over 180 trailers, along with our network of quality carriers, gives us the ability to get our customer's freight where they need it, when they need it.
